Originally from
NYC and Long Island, TOM BIANCHI has been performing Boston streets, subways
and clubs in what totals a tremendous amount of gigs. He has played every Monday
night at the Middle East in Cambridge for the past 2 years and hosted an open
mic at The Kells in Allston every Tuesday night for over a year. He writes funny
songs full of satire, irony and parody, often on the fly and off the cuff.
His instant improvisation skills and the unique combination of voice accompanied
by electric bass guitar has led the Boston Phoenix to write "The guy is funny,
and he's singing about exactly what's happening to all of us right this second".
In an interview and live review, Soundcheck Magazine wrote "As the crowd danced,
and sang, and shouted, Tom riffs and ripples through stories and songs, ballads
and funky one-man jams, personal greetings and other on-the-spot lyric changes,
doing all he could to make his audience feel at home."
He is sometimes joined by funny guy, and legendary local drummer Jason Gardener. |
